PRAYER
Merciful Saviour, Who m the days of ; I'hy flesh didst shed tears over Jerusalem, fpreseemg the misery of its descruction and the blindness of those who did not see what to Thy pure eyes was so clear; make us to understand that, though the Love and Rover of God are ever near to us, pressing themselves upon us, we inay frustrate these and miss what Thqu art waiting to bestow : we may tux-n Thy light into darkness : we may make our reason the mstrument of unrighteousuess. Becover for us a saviug fear and humiiity lest our candlestick be removed and our place and task givcn to others ; truiy f-epenting, may we not furtlier grieve Thy Holy Spirit, but : offer ourselves anew as channels of Thy Will, not for ourselves only, but for the wliole world, l'or wliich our Saviour lived and died, and lives now and forever. Amen,
