There was also a good future for whatever fruit could be exported. "When one consider-s the distance we are from Britain> it is notliing sliort of wonderful to thinlc that we are able to j-laee the produets witli such a high standar-d of quality compared with uther countries whic-h are muc-h closer to her niarkcts,'' he' stated. "In my opinion, if the present unsatisfactorv statc of international affairs do not cventuate in a further war, the future of our produets, following the reduction 03? unemployment in Britain, can be viewed most optimistieally. "The New Zealand producer eertainly benefits from the present Tate of excliangc, but this exchange is a very severo hurdle whenevcr money has to be forwarded to Britain for ihe pvi rjjhase of commodiliei." •
