The musical and.' dance ' programme * for the evening 'was supplied by .Uncle CSiarlie and Aunt 'Milly, of 2ZH, Napier, . and their" group of juvenile performers. The . programme was a particularly well chbsen one, all the itema being popular favourites, and well within the compass of children's voices and powers, and the result was an alto* gether delightful evening, quite apart from the usnal dance programme. Those • contributing itema were Unole Charlie, Cousins Margaret, Joyce, Raymond, Edith, Yeronica; Valerie, Ngaire, Yalmai, Shirley and two items by the children in choms. Anntjr Milly played the accompaniments. The usual old-time, national and mo- - dern dances were indulged in to musio supplied by Mrs and Mr H. Berry, Pipe Major Lawson piping for the national dances. The Pipe Bqnd played a number of selections, and also played a lament for the late Mr John Neilson to whose recent death Ghief McConnell f eelingly referred. The late Mr Neilson had been one of ihe earliest members and. for many years* a prominent officebearer in ihe Hawke's Bay Highland Society, and had always taken a deep interest in all Scottish funetions. The lament was played with all standing. Mr W. J. Key was a, most efficient M.C. / Prior to dispersing, Chief McOonnell thanked all the entertainers for a very pleasant evening, and those present endorsed his xemarks with heartiest appreciation.
