69 Fatal Crashes Have Occurred WORST IN HISTORY

(Eeceived 1, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 30. A iuid-aif collision in which three were killed has brought the total deaths in the Eoyal Air Force during this year to 112 in 69 fatal crashes, compared With 54 fotal crashes rcsulting in 96 deathp last year. It is the blackest year in thd history of the Air Force. The collision to-day occurred at Nortliweald, Essex, between two maeliiiies which were acting as targets. One caught liro and nose-dived, both occupants being burned to death despite villagers' efforts at rescue. The other plane crashed nearby, killing an aircraftsman, but the pilot parachuted to safety.
