Nearly fifty sporting bodies and Social organisations in Hastings have been circularised by the Hastings and Histrict Progress League drawing attention to fhe proposal of the lcague to sponsor a Queen Carnival this year and inviting them to co-operate in the festivilies. It is proposed to oh'er cash prizes of £10, £8 and £6 to the most successful candidates, and half the proceeds of the carnival are to be returned to those committees who nommate a candidate. in addition, tlie league intends to devote the major share of its proceeds towards effecting additional facilities for sport in the town.
