Government's Good Fortune MR HAMILTON'S COMMENT

We are cerlainly living in prosperous times, and we are spending the lot and perhaps a bit more. One mlght be pardoned for asking how the Government would handle the situation if price levels fell and the national income was materialiy leduced. "Public Works expenditure is mounting to a huge sum. If the money is being borrowed it will mean a big addi•tion to the public debt." Mr Hamilton said that the fact that there was no alteration in taxation was a very disappoiuting part of the Budget. Taxcs would never be reduced by the piescnt Government.
