(Received 30, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK Sept. 29. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that Mr Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, to-day issued a statement to Press representatives supporting the League condemnation of Japan and reiterating that the bombing was ' ' unwarranted and contrary to tho principles of law Und humanity." Mr Hull emphasised that this must not be considered a direct endorsemenfc of action taken by the League, and that the United States was not accepting the obligation of League membership. America still desired to retain its mdependence of judgment. Mr Hull declined to discuss the possible reaetion of the United States to the League proposals.
