MR JOSEPH BARR THOMPSON
The death occurred this morning of Mr Joseph Barr Thompson, a wellknown farmer of the Mahora district. The late Mr Thompson was born at Leitrim, County Derry, Ireland, in 1864, and camo to New Zealand about 40 years ago. Shortly after his arrival in the Dominion he took over a block of land in the Mahora district where he had resided ever since. Although blind for over 30 years Mr Thompson was a familiar figure at stock saies, and his bright disposition was an inspiration to all those with whom he came in contact. He was a generoiis supporter of the Baptist Church and a .regular attender at services until quite recently, when faiiing health cOmpelled him to stop indoors. There are left a widow and one son, to whom widespread eympathy will be extended. The funeral will leave his late residence in Evenden road, Mahora, topiorrow afternoon at three ofclock for ithe Hastipca Cemetery,
