GARDEN PARTY GIVEN BY MRS. HECTOR SMITH
Golfors from all parts 6f New Zealand who are visiting Napier for the Dominion ladies7 golf tournament, members of the Australian and New Zealand Tasman Citp toams, ofiELcials of the L.G.U., and offieials and members of tiie Waiohiki Ladies7 Golf Club, numboring about 200, wore the guests of Mrs Hector Smith, president of the Waiohiki Golf Club, at a delightful garden party at her home, Korokipo, yesterday afternoon. The lovely gardens were looking particularly gay and: eolourfq.1 and after oyeryono had enjoyed a delieious afternoon tea they had an opportunlty to stroll xouud and admiro the gardens. Uni'ortunal-oJy; Mrs Hector Smith was unablo to bo present at tho party i through illness and in her abseuco tho guests wero cntertaiued by her dauglitors, thq Misses Olga aud Judy Smith and Mrs M. B. Benton, of Nelson. Before motoring to Korokipo the visiting golfers were taken to Hukarere Sehool where they were. d'elightfully ontertained by the pupils with a coneert, the iterns given including Maori songs and poi dauces. Following the five o'elock party given on Tuesday by Mrs G. Kelly, Thompson road, Napier, several guests were entertained at a small buffet dinner party. The decorations of beautiful and colourful blooms gave a bright touch of colour to the reception rooms. Those present were: Mr and Mrs G. ' Kelly, Mr and Mrs II. W, Dnigleish Mr and Mrs (J. Geddis, Mesdamcti P. C. Holmes, Swinburn Kelly, Misses M. Dalgleish, Joan Boland, and T, Besant, Messrs Bruce Kelly, Liudsay, Boland and Mancus Paterson.
