Preparations For Season 4 WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. At the annual general meeting this evening of the Waipukurau^.Tennis Club Mr A. M. Johnstone presided over what might be termed a record muster. Apologies were received from Miss Schroder and Mr F. A. G. I^unn. The following officers were elected: — Patron , Mr. J. D. Ormond; president, Mr A. M. johnstone; viee-presidents,' Messrs F. A. G. Dunn and D. 8., Swainsbury; bon-orary secretary and treasurer, Mr G. E. Stiles; committee, Misses H. Moorhead, L. M. LovellSmith,' A. Schroder and Hunter, Messrs E. Kedgley, J. G. Stewart, P. L. Peacock, T. F. Wallace, H. Sherriff and C. Williams; men's club captain, Mr E. Kedgley; vice-captain, Mr J. Eiddell; ladies' club captain, Miss M. Eice; honorary auditor, Mr J. B. Gould. On the motion of Mr Wallace, «econded by Miss Moorhead, it was decided to hold an annual ball, at a date to be fixed by the committee. The question of the date ofr the opening of the season was also referred to the committee. Bringing up the matter of the voting of an honorarium to the secretary, the chairman said that no-one had done more for th'e club than Mr Stiles had, and he thought it was only rlght that the club should sliow its appreciation in a practical . way. On Mr Swainsbury's motion, seconded by. Mr Stewart, it was deeided to vote the secretary the same honorarium as last year, five guineas, and a free subscription. The secretary, expressing his thanfcs, said he thoroughly enjoyed the work. The president and club captain were appointed delegates to the apnual general meeting of the Hawke's Bay Association. On Mr Kedgley 's motion, seconded by Mr Wallace, it was deeided to ask the committee to go into tbe question of calling a special meeting to consider the raising of the subscriptions by 2/6 on the reducable miniinum figures. Votes of thanks were passed to the captain and the lady captain, on Mr Swainsbury's motion, seconded by tlie secretary. The chairman commented that the outstanding success of the last season was largely due to the work of these officers and all other members of the executive.
