WATER COLOURS EXHIBITION
m Cranleigh Barton's Works An interesting collection. of watorcolours is on view at Colleen's, Hastings. Mr Barton has just returned from a two years' visit to Europe, and Lis picturos include London scoues, a series of Continental subjects and the ChanneJ Islands. Mr Barton has had several one-man exhibitions in London, at one of which Qucen Mary bought two of his pietures. Learning much of his technique at the London Slade School, his work is nevertheless not of the modern school, but the sound and delicate drawing/the sensitive colouring and the eubtle atmpsphere have a charm which appeals to the refined taste. Some of the London scenes, with the soft English atmosphere and the sketches of Constantinople and Athens, will at once take the visitor's eye The exhibition is open until Friday, and on Saturday the pictures will be on view at "Hillsbrook," Havelock Nortli.
