Store-Cattle Yarding At Waipukurau GOOD STATION LINES • A slightly easier market prevailed for. the big yarding of store cattle afc "Waipukurau to-day. Over 3500 heao were penned, and they included a num-' ber of well-bred station lines.of steem and young bulloeks which sold fully ,7/6 to 10/. a head cheaper than a fortnight ago. Forward . buUocks in splendid ordeil made to £10, and well-grown 2-yr. steer* made. to £8 16/-. Most of the yearlingi were small-grown and rather backward. They were much below the quality- o£ the entries offered at late saies. Fe* male entries made better selling, and some useful pens of 2 and 3-y-ear hei£> ers sold readily. The breeding cow were not a bright lot, being mostly in poor condition. . There was a large attendance, which included many representatives from outside distriets, including Hawera and New Plymouth. There was only a small - yarding of store sheep, which consisted chiefiy of hoggets, whieh met with a ready salo at keen rates. A well-grown line of wether hoggets, shorn as lambs, brought 27/6... In from Porangahau, 31 two and three-year dehorned Hereford steers, in medium order, were passed at £8 10/%In froni) Mangaorapa, a.line of very ■ small-grown Aberdeen -Angus yearling steers, in very backward order and light, made a good sale at'£5 7/6. In from Porangahau^ a line of 19 clean-bred. Aberdeen Angus cows, most : of which were empty, in medium order and well framed, brought £6 8/% • On account . Rangitoto Station, ., 54 medium-grown three and four-yea* Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross bulloeks brought £9 12/-. These young* bulloeks were welll bred and showed good coats, being _in useful .store order and at the figure " made good buying. In from Wharetoka Station, 26 mixedbred horned cowe, with 17 -calves (Hereford .bull) at foot brought £5 15/% These cows were ismall-framed and in light order. ( ' FAT SHEEP • An entry of well-framed, medium-tv heavy well wool led ewes brought 34/3. - Off' the same property, 28 lighter ewes and smaller framed, brought 29/-. On account Mr A. D. Wallace, 21. 4-th ewes, mostly maiden and in prime condition, a quality entry; sold at 36/3. A small entry of heavy prime wethers bf good quality made 40/6. STOKE SHEEP , In frqm . Porangahau, 400 mediumgrown Komney woolly wether hoggets, wintered on swedes and m good forward order, being brigiht and healthy,' were passed at 28/9. Also Irom Porangahau, 111 , smallgrown It.omney wether hoggets, in light order, were passed at 24/-.. Also from Porangahau, a line of fair-mouthed well-J'rained ewes, with quite .well developed uudocked lainba at foot brought 15/2, all counted. A Hue. of ■ 89 sinai 1-to-medium grown woolly llonmey ewe lambs; iu light order, brought 31/3. On accoiiut Mr D. Eddy, Tikokino, 202 well-grown Komney wether hoggets, sliorn as lambs, in very forward j order, brought 27/6. This was a splenlid line aud was readily soi.ght after.
