COMMISSIONER'S LETTER
KOBIN
HOOD.
Dear Scouts, — Wo liave now got at headqaarters, a Lone Ecout branch. Before this many chaps have had to give up their Scouting when they leit school, and went to jobs in the country or in districts where there were no Seout®. Any of you who are keen to keep up your scouting, but will be going to places where there are no Scouts, should let either '/Deerfoot" ox'me know and we will put you in touch with the Lone Scout people in "Wellington. If any old Scouts, in out of tho way spote, see this letter and would like to jom up again as Lone Scouts I hope they will write to me about i't, Most of tho Scouting is carried on by coffespondence, which souuds dull, but is a great deal better than you would imagine. Anyway the great thiug is- -that 'you are still one of the great Scout brotherhood ahd you would • in this . way most likely find other Lone Scouts quite near you. I heard of two Lone Scouts who lived 20 miles apart. Once a month they used to hike till they met eaeh other, camp the night together, and go home again next day. Next Saturday (October 2) we are planting the Ooronation Avenue at the Scout Camp here. The cercmony will tako place at 2.30 p.m. and we hope as many of you as possible will turn up. We would* liko to see Cubs, Scouts, pa1 rents, and committee members from every group in Hawke's Bay. Brmg your own mug and something to eatl Hoping to see you all on Saturdajr.— - Yours ever.
