(Received 27, 11.50 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Sept. 26. Announcing that bombing of military objectives will be carried out despite the residence of non-combatants nearoy, Rear-Admiral Honda, Japanese Naval Attache, states that bombings under these conditions were accepted by Tne Hague Air Convention of 1923. According to a Tohio message, the Japanese Admiralty announces that Japanese planes and warships bombarded Hoihow, on Hainan Island, damaging ite strong fortilictions. Planes heavily bombed Chapei to-day and three times have raided Canton since ,dawn. It is ofhcially claimed that the Chinese War Oflice at Nanking was smashed to pieces during yesterday's air-raid. Prince Hiroyoshi Fushimi, commander of the Japanese Third Destroyer Plotilla^ was slightly wounded aboard iiia ship ia the Whangpoo river by Chinese snipers. Prince Pushimi is a member of the Imperial Family but is not of the reigning house. The Mayor of Canton has appe^led to the great Powers to prevent the Japanese from carrying out air-raids ou cities irrespective of military objectives. Owing to steady rain, the situation on the Shanghai front is unehanged. The Japanese army spokesman announced the concentration of forces and supplies on all fronts in preparation for a grand offensive. The Times Shanghai correspondent says that the official Japanese army casualties to September 21, excluding naval, were 112 killed and 4169 wounded, which is 10 per cent. of the total, assuming that the force "engaged was 50,000. Tho Chinese still hold the Kiangwan salient. They are resisting tho pressure along the entire Shanghai front and iri) inflicting heavy lossos.
