BRIDAL GOWN OF FRENCH SATIN CLOCHE
jefferies— clark The Nelson Street Hall, Hastings, was decorated with masses of spring flowers on Thursday afternoon for the Weddinsg of Nella Algar, daughter oi Mr and Mrs C. Olark, Kaipo road, Hastings, and lleuben Arthur, son of Mr and JVlrs A. E. Jefferies, Duke street, Hastings. Mr Guilliard, of Waipukurau, performed the cereinony and Miss Flora McLeod played tho wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of French satin cloche cut on classical lines with a high neckline finished in front with a horseshoe of orangie blossom. The sleeves were long and tight fitting and the draped skirt was finished with a fish-tail train. Her veil arranged with an orange blossom bandeau was very long and fell to forin a second train. She also carried a sheaf of lihes. The veil was lent by a friend. When the bride left the chureh she was presented with a good-luck horseshoe by her little nephew Mervyn McKain. The only bridesmaid was Miss Laura Cbristison whose gown was of maize cloque fashioned with a cowled neckline and full pleated sleeve. She wore shoes of maize satin, a picture liat also in this shade and carried a bouquet of tinted freesias arranged with maidenhair fern. Mr Ron White, of Wairoa, was the best man. The wedding reception was held at the Rialto tearooms, where a beautiful autumn tinted horseshoe was suspended over the bridal table on which stood the two-tiered wedding cak© which was on! by tho bride. =»= fast was a very happy one and the usual toasts were honoured. The gnests were received by the bride's parents, Mrs C.'' Clark, wearing a gown of navy blue floral mavooain with a navy coat trimmed with cherry buttons. Her navy blue hat was trimmed with cherry flowers and she carried a bouquet of red anemones. Mrs A. E. Jefferies, the bridegroom's mother. wore a brown ensemble trimmed with beige^ a brown hat and fur stole. She carried a bouquet of freesias and polyanthus. When the bride and hridegroom left for their honeymoon in the north the bride travelled in a fawn jumper suit with a waistcoat effect trimmed with red buttons, and a red bow finishing the Peter Pan collar. Her hat, gloves, shoes and purse were all red and she carried a light spring coat. Among the guests were Mr and Mrs Long, the latter a sister of the bride, Mrs McKain, also a ' sister, Miss May Jefferies, a step-sister of the bridegroom, and Messrs Edwards. Cliff and Vernon Jefferies, his brothers, Mrs Stevens, the bride's grandmother, Mr and Mrs A. E. Clark, grandparents df the bride, and many friends.
