Honours Keenly Contested Though neither slde was at fql1 streugth, numerically and otherwis(| b'eltic and M.A.C. provided quite a good exhibition, both sidcs striving hiird to earn the right to enter tho tlnal of the eompetition. Celtie were auccessful by eight points to three, but the issue was in doubt right up to the eml. lt was a little time before either team settled down, the players having to. accommodate themselves to playing shorthanded. Celtie were showing the beiter form and held a definite territqrIal advantage. A forward rush ied to a five-yard scrum and Baker opOned the scoring with a hard-earned try for Celtie. This was the only score of the spell. The Maoris were the attackers for the early part of the second spell, and at times play was l'airly willing, eautions having to be made. Celtie graduaily regaihed tho ascendancy, and P. Reid, following-up fast a long kick, secured possession and scored in a handy pasition ±'or Geddis to convort.
