WOTAN RUNS SECOND AT MOONEE VALLEY
MELBOURNE, Sept. 26. In spite of a great linish by Pamelas, Aurie'B Star won the Quality Handicap at the Moonee Vailey races. Aurie's Star quickly opened -up a big lead. Pamelus, who was weli back at the half mile, flew at the finish but just failed to catch the pacemaker. When his jockey used the whip on Wotan in the Tullamarine Handicap he momentariiy looked like catching oteveuage, but he was unsuccessful. Wiotan was well back in tl\e early stages but came up entering the straight and almost drew level with Stevenage, who, however, stalled ou! his chailenge. Prinoe Quex moved up near the half mile but met with a check and dropped back. Results: — QUALITY HANDICAP, of £700; six furlongs.
