Central Hawke's Bay Wants Studio REPRESENTATIONS MADE WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Efforts are being made in Central Hawke's Bay to have the studio for the new Government broadcasting sta- , tion, which is to be erected at Opapa, 1 altuated either in Waipukurau or Wailiawa, rather than at Napier, it being held that this would be the more logically central sito in tho district. Eeprcsentations have been made by bolk the Waipukurau Council and tho Central Hawke's Biay Eleetric Power Board to have the clainis of the district ponsidered. Yesterday morning Mr G. E. Fowler, seeretary-manager of the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board, sent the following telegRam to Mr H. M. Christie, M.P. for Waipawa— "Strong desire this district that as broadcasting station is to bo erected just outside this board's area very favourable cohsidersition should be given stildio beihg erected either Waipawa or Waipukurau central position of botli towas should be sttong factter iu' favoUr revenue would greatly essist boatd and benefit cousume'rs." The borough eounCils nad chambers of commerce in both tqwns are mov. ing in the matter. Tho Waipukurau Borough Council wrote to tho Direetor of broadcasting on tho subject as far baclc as June 18, and a copy of tho letter was forwarded to Mr H, M. Christie, M.P.
