Mediterranean Patrol

LONDON, Sept. 22. A report from Tangier states that British warships to-day figured in the first incident undei the . new Mediterranean patrol plan. The warships raced eight miles to the assistance of the Prench liner Koutoubia, which sent an S.O.S. to' the effeet that an aeroplane was attacking her, south of the Balearics. The liner was bound from Corsica to Casablanca with 700 passengers. The Koutoubia was not hit, and the warships escorted hcr for some distance.
