CO-OPERATION NEEDED

Airport Board and Napier jCouncil

That more co-operation between the board and the Napier Borough Counejl would be better than insinuations that the board was, not doing its work in a proper manner, was the opinion expreseed at the meeting last evening of the Napier Airport Board. Members emphasised that by its constitution the board was compelled to rely npon the borough for finance, and could do notliinjr without the consent of the council. The discqssion arose from statements made at the last meeting of the Napier Borough Council inferring that there was something wrong with the Airport Board and that it was not functioning w it ehould. Those present took exception to the remarks, and suggestcd that there should be more co-operation between the council and the board. 3t was pointed out that the boaTd was unable to supply any further details of its reqnirements nntil it received the advice awaited fropx experts ;u Wellington as to what is considered necessary.
