Fifty-two applications have been received for the .Central (Wellington) distriet and 29 has been accepted. These men are ia training at Fort Dorset. Applications in the Southern (South Island) distriet totalled 66, of whom 47 were accepted, and they have started training at Burnham." Mr Jones said it was gratifying to see that the type of young maa eelected was definitely good. A special reservist should be able to save sufficient mpney to enable him to . leave camp after his three months' training With £20 to his credit. It is anticipated that as the scheme becomes more widely known there will be a definite improvement in the number of applications for enlistment.
