AFTERNOON GIFT PARTY FOR A BRIDE-TO-BE

Mrs. W. G. Bryce and Miss Betty Bryce entertained a number of friends at their residence, Church street, Wai-, pukurau, at a " kitehen-gif t " afternoon on Wednesday in honour of Miss Clara Duncan, who marriage takes place early next cnonth. A pleasant afternoon passed quickly with competitions, which wero won by Mrs. R. J. Fleming, Misses M. Fleming and N. Wharmby. Pianoforte selections were given by Miss N. Wharmby and MisS Z. Mitchell and songs by Mrs. D. Clarke and Miss M. Fleming. Those present were: Mesdames E. D. Rice, R., Gardner, R. J. Fleming and D. Clarke, Misses C. Duncan, M. and C. Fleming, B. Merryless, E. Paget, L. Lovell-Smith, Z. Mitchell, N. Wharmby, R. Olliver M. Buchanan, D. Liddell (Waipawa), L. Murphy (Waipawa) and M. Robertson.
