All the Farmers Satisfied?

WELLINGTON, La'st Night. "Hon. D. G. Sullivan stated in the Address-in-Reply debate that a speaker at the Farmers' Union executive meeting at Masterton had asserted that 80 per cent. of the farmers in New Zealand were satisfied with the guaranteed price," said the secretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Union (Mr. A. P. O'Shea) to-day. "I would like to correct the impression which may be, created by this statement. The statement actually made at Masterton was that the principle of a stabilised price * was approved by 80 per cent. "of the farmers in New Zealand. This gives a very different impression from the Minister 's statement." Mr. O 'Shea added that the Wairarapa executive had decided to refer the whole question of the guaranteed price to its branches for consideration and comment. ; "Too Old to Be Over-Awed." Tlie Attorney-lienerai ^Hon. H. G. K. Mason) replied that there were two small amendments. Both were very slight ones and the Bill merely extended the operation of the Act for a further year. One of the amendments set at rest the question whether a semidetached house came under the provisions of the Act, while the other was a purely technical one, smoothing out the somewhat cumbersome wording of one clause. Mr H. S. S. Kyle asked if thero was any reference in the Bill to flats. It was an important factor at the present time and was causing concern to municipalities where blocks of flats were being erected. He asked if the Government intended to bring flats under the operation of the Act, if provision were not already made for so doing in the Bill. An intorjeetor: Hove an amendment. Mr S. G. Smith asked if there was any great demand from the whole Dominion for a renewal of tho operation of the Act and he was also interested to learn if the Bill proposed to bring flats under the provisions of tht JlM I
