Miss M. Jefferd Beats ' Miss P. Helean SEMI-FINAL MATCHES The semi-finals of the Hastings Ladies' Golf Club open championship were played this morning, Miss M. Jefferd heating Miss P. Helean 3 up aud 1 to play, and Mrs D. Wilson beating Mrs W. J. Crerar, 1 up, The weather conditions were trying. a stiff southerly wind making play very difficult. In the match between Miss Jefferd and Miss Helean, the first three holes were halved, then. Miss Jefferd won the fourth by three to 4, and t'f 3 fifth by three to 5. At the sixth Miss Jefferd put two balls out of bounds and conceded the hole, The s6venth was halved in five and the eighth was won ' by Miss Jefferd 5 to 6, making her 2 up again.
