Sherenden Institute

At the September meeting of the Sherenden Women's Institute, Mrs Boyd presided over a good attendanee. A vote of condoience was passed to Mrs Gibson and Miss Norah Connor in their recent bereavements. ■' An interesting letter from the link at Medstead describing the Coronation was read, and arrangements for the Institute's lloral exhibit at the A. and P. Show were made. After an enjoyable afternoon tea had been served by Mesdames Beamish and McGrane, the competitions were judged. The results were: Best bloom in the ga^den (seniors). — Mrs Doole 1, Mrs Attwood 2, Mrs Butt 3. Juniors: Miss K. Matthews 1, Miss M. Matthews 2 and 3. Prettiest coat hanger: Mrs Bull 1. Mrs Clarksou 2, Mrs McGrane 3.
