SILVER WEDDING PARTY HELD IN HASTINGS

• A very jolly party was given by Mrs M. E. Johnston on Monday night to celebrate the silver wedding of Mr and Mrs Birch Johnston of New Plymoutn. The time was spent with a 500 tournament the -winners being Mrs J. Ritchde 1, Mrs J. Taylor booby, Mr F. Zacho 1, Mr J. Parker booby. Much amusement was caused by some clev-erly-rendered comedy items by Mrs B. Johnston. Songs were also given by Mrs Lang and Mrs Starnes. A recitation given by Mrs ( Starnes coneluded the evening's entertainment. A sumptuous supper with a beautiful wedding cake was thoroughly enjoyed. Those present were: Mesdames Ritchie, Parker, Dunlop, Johnston (2), Waters, Rowe, Taylor, Starnes, Manley, Lang, Misses Bain, Smith (2), Johnston, Messrs Johnston, Parker, Ritchie, Taylor, Rowe, Brown, Lauj, Hanley, Prior, Zacho, Waters.
