"SWEET ALOES" TO-NIGHT, "Sweet Aloes," a dynamic drama | revealing the human emotions of love passion, hate and eacriiice, sscreens at the Itegent Theatre to-night with Kay Franeis in the steilar role. The pictuie, a Cosmopolitan production released by Warner Bros., is based on the smashing stage hit, "Sweet Aloes," by Jay Maiiory. The plot of the piay is ultramodern and staT'tlingly daring, and although frank in treatnient, is handled with the utmost good taste. George Brent has the role of the American husband of Miss Franeis, and gxves a sterling performanee, as afso do Roland Young as .the playwriglit, and Patric Knovvies as the nobleman involved m the romance. Frieda Inescort has created a remarkable character' in the nobleman 's wife, who adopts the other woman's child as lier own'. She brings to her portraya] great charm and intelligence. Henry Stephenson iS excellent in the role of the English lord and. grandfather of the child he plahs to make his heir, as also is Halliwell Hobbes, father of .Miss Franeis,* who dies as she is about to tell him of her difficulties. Helen Flint gives a fine performanee as an American doctor, with whom the playwright falls in love.
