It *vvas etated tliat the aeeuscd previously kad meen au inmate of a niental institution. After tlie sliooting the accused was found with a severe wound in his ehest, he having turned a double-barrelled gun on himself. After 12 witnesses had been heard, the accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial.
