Diamond J'ubilce of Churcli. Special thanksgiving sorvlces are being held in St. Mary's Cliureh, Waipukurau, next Sunday to celobrate tho diamond jubilee of the building of the churcli. The iirst church was cousecrated by Bishop Cowio, of Auckland, in 1877. Tho iirst clergymau was tho Rov. Edwin Whcolor, followed by J. C. Eccles (187-1), Johu Shoaruian (1S75), Flctcher II. Loug (1881), E. II. Graingcr, M.A. (1893), J. D. Kaipo (1893), F. W. Martin (1900), A. \V. Hlaco (1913) and Ct.non Rice (1924). Sixty years ago the parish ,exteuded as far ^outli as the Manawatu Gorgc. A most important event in the 60 years was the building of tlie beautiful uew brich church sbven years ago. Next Sunday tho Bishop of tlie diocese willpreach at the 11 a.m, Eucharist, and the pxeacher at the eAuing service will be , the Yen, Arclxdeaijn K. E. Maclean.
