"Cars Should be Kept Off Streets," Says Mayor

DUNEDIN, This Day. The need for hetter parking estab•shments for cars was stressed by the 'Jayor, the llev. Mr Cox, in welcoming •lelegates to the annual conference of the New -Zealand Motor Trades Federation, whose business was taken privately. The Mayor said that streets were becoming filled with standing cars and mnnicipalities woubl soon have to prevent, street-parking, both to expediate tiaffic and ensure safety. It might be that the federation cimld give a lead by the establishment of Jarger and more efficient garages, when he was sure that local authorities would co-operate by eliminating street parking where possible.
