Early developments are imminent in coiinection with the Moditerranean antipiracy police sclieuie on the lines for which the British and Frencli Governments have consistently worked. Count Giano, the Italian Foreign Minister, recently asked the British and French Charges d'ASaires to call upon him. It is upderstood that Count Ciano verbally indicated that Italy was anxious to cooperate in the naval patrol scheme. The reservations that the Italian Government entertained were further clariiied. - The British and French Governmeiits have now suggested A meeting of technical experts at Paris at an early date to discuss possible modifications of the patrol scheme which might be commended in the event of participation by an Italian naval contingent. Rome Press messages state that a communique officially announces that Italy has agreed to participate in the pOlieing of the Mediterranean under the Nyon arrangement. Paris message*, say that French circles confidently expect a meeting of naval experts# The British Admiralty, meanwhile, has issued the details of 13 routes to be used by British merchant shipping under the Nyon anti-piracy agreement. No speeial routes have been arranged for the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas, where vessels are advised to follow the ordinary routes.
