Netherland* to Take Important Steps (Received 22, 10.50 a.m.) THE HAGUE, Sept. 21. Queen Wilhemina, in the Speech from the Throne, announced that important legislation would be introduced iii Parliament imnxediately to reixxforce the defences of the Dutch Bast IndieS. Queen Willielmina announced that tlie measures were due to international tension. They would necessitate speclal financial measures to meet the increased defence expenditure. No details are revealed, but it is understood that the proposed measures will involve the greates expenditure on defence since 1914.
