Queen Wilhemina, in the Speech from the Throne, announced that important legislation would be introduced iii Parliament imnxediately to reixxforce the defences of the Dutch Bast IndieS. Queen Willielmina announced that tlie measures were due to international tension. They would necessitate speclal financial measures to meet the increased defence expenditure.
