Cocker was appointed by the Auckland University College Council at its meeting recently as oue of its represcntatives on the New Zealaud University Senato itt place of Mr. Konueth MaCkeuzie, who tecently resigned his seat. Partridge, Londoil, accompauied by the Misses Part' ridge, Who ti'avelled from Englnnd to Australia iu tho Ofmonde, are due to afrive at WelliUgton by the Wanganolla on September 20. They are to proceed south, where they will be the guests of Mrs Robort Buller, Timaru. The party is to return to England in April next. His Exceiloncy the Governor-Genenl, Lord Galway, will leave Woiliugcon 011 Friday evening by rail in order to be present at the final llugby Test between tlie Spritigbolts and Now Zealand.
