OMAKERE, Last Night. The ehildren's annual fancy dres* ball was lx'eld at the Omakere JbLall. Lew Muiiroe's Orchestra supplied the music and Mr A. Kittow acted as M.C. Tha children liad the iioor till 10 p.m. and enjoyed thexnselves to thq i'ull. The hall was decorated with i^ed and black streamers and gaily coloured badloons, which were later given to tho children. Each child also received a qake of chocolate, Miss Leta Brinsen's pupils, Mary Norris and Brian Moriarty gave an exhibition tap daixce, and two songs were rendered by Jean Kittow and Barbara Towers. Mrs E. C. Nation acted as judge pf tlie fancy-costumes and awarded prizes to the tollowing:— . Shirley Letkbridge, fairy; Jean Linton, mid-Victorian lady ; Jolin Logan, goidier; John Kittow, gqlfer; Barry MoDougall, baker; Ian Linton, huntsman. Fancy dresses were also worn by the following : — - Dinalx Nation, Lady Huntsman ; Ann llogers, Georgian frock ; Ray Price, liower ; Niel Kittow, sailor ; David Kittow, Chinese ; Lxxcy Ro^'e, Japanese girl; Marv Norris, Russian g/irl ; Ngaire Rirdsail, nurse ; Githa Birdsall, Polisb boy ; Hylda Sebley, gipsy ; Dot Birdsall, Mary Ouxte Contrary; Hazel Veaty, Frencjx mascot; Noeline Vesty, Irish (Jolleen, Betty Vcgty, beach girl; Betty Kittoxv, toy soldier; Brian Moriarty, school boy ; John Verraxi. gaxlor; Len Birdsall, coos; Ray Birdgall, Indiau; Humphrey Lethbridge, AU Black; uanet McLeod, Red Cross nurse; Jean Kittow and B«irba,ra Towers, 2 litfle girls in blue ; Ronald Ebbet, mechanic ; Jariet Ebbet, Little Miss MoHitt.
