WELLINGTON,' Last Night, The death has occurred of Mr William Faircliild Marsh, aged 74. He was appointed as cadet in the Survey Department in 1879 and eventually occupied the jdual p'Ositions of cliief surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands first for Westland, then for the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne district, and finally for Auckland. He retired in 1925.
