A1 Capone's Ex-Gunman "LIMEY THE TOUGH" (Received 21, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 20. "Limey the Tough," A1 Capone's gunman during the liquor racket, otherwise John Patrick Sherry, an ex-boxer, aged 42, was found with his neck broken and head wounds in a house in Holloway. The police, after night hunt in Islington, arrested a woman and two men in connection with the murder. Sherry fought with the Inniskilling Dragoons during the war and A1 Capone regarded him as the toughest English'man he had met. Once Sherry was "taken for a ride" by rival gangsters but battled his way out by sheer strength.
