Australian Interest in N.Z. Event

• AUCKLAND, Last Night. The considerable interest which is being taken in Australia in the forthcoxning New Zealand centenary was remarked upon by Bishop Liston, of Auckland, on his return by the Mariposa to-day after an absence of four weeks. He attended the Plenary Council of Australian and New Zealand Prelates. He said that most of the archbishops and 4bishops of Australia had promised to attend the centenary. Others were coming from the islands, and two well-known ecelesiastics from the United States — namely, Bishop Murray, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Bishop Kelley, distinguished author, of Oklahoma — were expected. Altogether about 25 prelates would come. The plenary couxxeil which Bishop Liston attended in Australia was tho first held in 32 years. Bishops of two countries met in St. Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, to diseuss the affairs of tho Churcli.
