The annual meeting of ■ the Park Lawn Tennis Club will be held in tlie Cbamber of Commerce rooms to-mor-row night at 7.30. The monthly meeting of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce will he held in tlie board room this (Monday) evening at 7.45 o'ciock, The Pakowhai Miniature Rifle Club will hold a dance in the Pakowhai Hall on Thursday next, September 23 at 8 p.m. MacKay's orchestfa will be in attendance. The annual general meeting of the Whakatu Cricket Club will be held in the Friendly Societies' Hall, Warren street, Hastings on Wednesday, September 22, at' 7.45 sharp. Manchester Unity Oddfellows are re miuded that tlie inter-lodge bowls competition between the Napier, Meeanee, Clive, Waipawa and Hastings lodges, will takc place at the Oddfellows' Hall. Hastings, to-morrow, evening, commencing at 7.30. Ten rinks have been entered, and a keen contest is anticipated.. All members are invited. Tliis week is a time of celebration and thanksgiving in St. Matthew's parish, Hastings, it being the patronal festival. Special services and functions have been arranged, and are advertisea in , the public noti.ee columns of this issue. They include Holy Communipn. every morning, a special festal evensong to-morrow night, when visiting ahbins wHl combine with the St. Mat> thew's choir. to be followed by a social in the hall, a young people 's social on Wednesday evening and a big old-time dance on Thursday night. There will be a Sunday scbool coneert on Friday next at 7 o'ciock. Notices for next Sunday will be advertised later. It 'is to be lioped that the parishioners will join together and make this time a period of inspiration and fellowship.
