MR FRANK D. McGOVERN

Mr Frank Dalton McGovern. manager of tlie Auckland branch of the Bank of New South Wales, died in a privafe hospital, at the age of 62. IMr McGoI vern was educated at Wellington ColI lege, where he was captain of the sehool first fifteen for a number of years. He entered the service of the Bank of New South Wales at Christchurch, in 1894, and soon rose to the position of accountant at the Auckland branch. He opened a new braneh at Newton, and was successively managsr at Whangarei, Dannevirke and Timaru and assistant-manager at Auckland. He was appointed niRuager at Auckland in 1928, which position he held until the tiine of'his death. t He was a member of the Auckland Raeing Club and the Glendowie Golf Club. and he was also associated with the Northern and Auckland Clubs. He was a keen supporter of Rugby, golf and racing. Mr McGovern leaves a widow, but no children-.
