The first screen portrayal of : the life of Queen Victoria to be permitted in Britain was shown hef ore a distinguished and enthusiastic audience in London to-day. , The ' film is entitled ' ' Victoria the Great," and was produced at the Denham Studio, near London. It was reeently sliown at the international . film exposition in Venice, and was awarded the cup pf all nations in competition with 70 otlier productions. The scenes depicting the conferment pf the title of Empress of India and the Diamond .Jubilee celebrations are shown in colour.
