■ WELLINGTON, This Day, "The administration of the Government has been on orthodox lines," said Mr E. L. Cullen (Government, Hawke's Bay), when speaking in the Address-in-Eeply debate in the House of Represntativcs yesterday. Nothing unorthodox liad been done, he said, and the past Government could liavo done the same things as the present Government had it wished to. Ref'erence was made by Mr Cullen to rates of pay on the Public Works and those paid by dairy-farmers under the Agriculfural Workers Act. He said the tarm worker, who received £2 2/6, was well off compared with the man on Public. Works, who had a lot, of broken time through wet weather. Diseussing the Government 's proposals for taking over freight transport services, Mr Cullen said that practically SO per cent. of tbe lorry owners wero insolvent.
