Death from War Wouods FORMER GISBORNEITE Tbe death has occurred at New Plymouth from war disabilities of Mr. J. A. Mills, who was claimed to be the youngest New Zealandor to serve in tho Great War. Mr. Mills enlisted at Gisborne at the ago of 15, He looked oldcr than his years, and by giving a false age he was aceepted for service. He sailcd with tho 31st Gontingent and did not let his parents know of his enlistment until he reacfied England. He servcd in France and was invalided home, Unfit to follow hig trade, he was given an outdpor "position with the New Plymouth Borough Council, and was in its employ at the time of his death when pn fioliday in Christchurch.
