MR. A. D. McCONNELL
The death occurred at Sister Anderson's private hospital of Mr Abrahdin Dale'McConnell, wlio was well kpown in the Hawke's Bay distvict and highly respected as a rlan of the highest integrity and of sterling character. The late Mr McConnell was born in County Antrini, Jreland, and eaibe to New Zealand jn 1879 in the sailing ghip Auckland, landing a* Dunedin. A few nionths later he came to the Hawke's Bay district and had resided here evcr since. He was first employed a$ a sliepherd at Waikari and later was -head ahepherd at Tangoio Station, then under the management of Mr J. B. Rells, Subsequently he took over the management of Hakariki Station on behalf of Mr F, J. Ryder. After a period of some years he took up land on his own account at Waitahora, in the Dannevirke digtrict. He later dlsposed of this property and bought a farrn at Maraptotara. The late Mr McConnell had lived in retirement for the past seven years. He is sprvived by a widow, and oue son, Mr Stewart MeCPnnell, and a daughter, Mrs E. Eitzgibbon. Mr. F. J. McConnell; of Wairoa, is a brother.
