Sir, — In your report of tbe Patangata County Couucil's moutbly meeting tlie information is given tbat tbe county is again flirting witb the W'aipawa borougb for a water supply for Otane. Tbe Health Department does not approve of tbe water from the proposed riverbed source, and need .tlns be wondered at? Tbe bole from wbicb tne tested water was drawn is exactly six . foet from tbe edge of tbe main road in tbe midst of a permanent bog. Yet there is an area of at least 100 acres of clean sbingle country from wbicb" to oboose. Surely tbi's wTas not done deliberately, as bad-minded people are suggesting. — • VnnrQ o fr» * ' ' '
