H.B. Executive Meeting SOLDIERS ASSISTED A meeting of tbe executive of tbe ; Hawke's Bay War Belief Association was beld last evening in Napier. Tbe chairman, Mr J. N. Barrie, presided over Messrs T. H. Bingland, C. II. Critcbley, L. J. Mackersey, C. V. Chamberlain, and W. G. F. Frame. It was reported tbat since tbe last meeting assistance amounting to £1021 1/11 bad been made as follovvs: — Grants to tSoldiers and Dependents.— Dannevirke branch (77 soldiers and 10 dependents), £180 18/-; Hastings braneh (1U5 soldiers and seven aepenuents), £190 1/6; Takapau (seven soiuiers), £6 7/6; Waipawa (iive soldiers), 15/1; Waipukurau (four soldiers and two dependents), £33 15/-; Wairoa (nine ^soldiers aud oue dependent), £19 10/-; Woodville (32 soldiei's), £13 11/9; Napier (115 soldiers and eigkt dependents), 205 9/10. One payment.on account of tbe Napier SoMiers ■ Club Trust Account amouuted to £10. Loans to Soldiers. — • Dannevirke (two), £6 5/-; Hastings (10), £359 17/10; Waipawa (one), £12 10/-; Napier (21) % £150 17/1. l'ayments for Otber Societies. — Dannevirke (16), £58 11/2; Hastings (10), £29 12/6; Wairoa (1), £12 10/-; Napier (o5), £96 12/8. Payments refunded amounted to £1038 17/2, as follows: — Loans to Soldiers Befuiided. — Daunc- , virke (23), £89 4/10; Hastings (27), £424 17/10; Waipawa (3), £29 10/-; Waipukurau (1),. 10/-; Woodville (5), £20; Wairoa (8), £14 15/-; Napier (49), £294 13/9. Payments Befunded by Otber /Societies. — Dannevirke (7), £36 10/2;. Hastings (K) £21 18/6; Wairoa (1),-. £12 10/-; Napier (4), £32 . 10/-. Interest Qn loans to soldiers amounted to £61 17/1. A letter expressing tbeir satisfaction and complete confidence in tbe executive of tbe Hawke's Bay War Belief Association was received witb thanks from tbe Hastings brancli of the Beturned Soldiers' Association. Tbe .executive expressed it's pleasure at tbe' good work done by branch seerotaries in connection with pension cases. There were reports presented on 26 cases, and it was pleasing to note tbat arrears of pensions paid in tbese cases amounted to £275 4/2. Eeports on grants for; 29 orpban children of deceased soldiers, amounting to £170, were placed before tbe meeting and approved. The valnable help given by the F n ter Trust fuud, from wbicb sucb support was drawn, was tlie subject of appreciative eommeut by members.
