Building Work Hampered

WANGANUI, Last Night. ''The board's building operations are growing to proportions which demand eonsiderable quantities of materiais and oall for the services of many skilled and unskilled tradesmen," said the archi tect, Mr B. R. Hodge, when he submitted his monthly repurt at to-day's meet ing of the Wanganui Bducatiou Board. "Unfortunately tradesmen are at a prennum, and much work must, in consequence, be delayed. However, every ef'iort is being extonded to give attention to those jobs which are regarded as the more urgont. Difficulty is exporicnced in some cascs in obtaining the services of private contraetors to execute works of a minor nature which are offored to tliem. "At present we have a sLal'f of 30, consisting of 16 carpeulers, seven painters, two liibourers, oue bricklayer, one plumber uiid three approntieea. "
