Ohocolate and eocoa stains may both be treated alike, and should be sponged with cold. water. If ariy grease remains after this treatment, it should be treated 'for a grease stain afterwards, and naptha soap or borax and water my be used. If the stain is on cloth, tlien some powdered French chalk or fuller's earth must be placed over thh Spot, and the spot held over a hot iron. When the chalk has absorbed the grease it may be rubbed off. Fruit stains can- be removed from a linen garment' by rubbing the stain with salt and lempn juice, then pouring boing water over it. Ink is better removed from the garment by rubbing with salt and lemon while they are fresh aud damp, and afterwards washing" in the usual way, or by gently rubbing in boiled milk (not boiling), if the garment is coloured.
