SPRINGBOKS ENTERTAINED AT SUCCESSFUL BALL HELD IN NAPIER

There was a spirit of gaiety evident last evening at the Foresters' Hall, Napier, when as« a fitting fmish to an eventful day, the Napier High School Old Boys' Faotball Cluh, held a Springbok Ball, members of the visiting Springbok team being the guests of the evening. The hall looked very ' colourful with its deep blue lamp ehades shedding a soi't glow on the many dancers, showing to advantage the multi-col-oured frocks worn. Gordon Rcdward's orchestra supplied melodious music, and an excellent supper was laid in the upstkifs hall. The ball was a great success, due in no small measure to the followiug committee which was responsible for the arrangements Messrs G. I. Bickerstaff and W. Y. Clothier (joint secretaries) , R. B. Hawkins and R.. W. Ennor. Misses V, Clothier, J. Gilberd and F. Newton, Those present were: — Miss V, Clothier, fitting frock of taffeta checked in orange and black with short-fitting sle^ves and Peter 'Pan collar. Miss J. Gilberd frock of sky-blue taffeta with coatee of de,ep saxe-blue silk velvet, Miss M. Newton's frock was of black taffeta patterned in red and white with matching coatee. Miss L. Gilberd, frock of midnightblue panne velvet with coatee of silver lame. Miss E Boldt, frock of silver windswept satiu with tunic of purplo triplo georgette and silver sash. Miss B.
