Fine Display at Waipukurau Flower Show NUMEROUS ENTRIES

WAIPUEUEAU, Last Night. A magniiiient display of blooms was seen at !3t. Mary's annual spring flower show, held in tho Municipal Theatre, Waipukurau^ yesterday. Entries ■ for most elasses were numeroua and the quality ..was well up to standard. ,A .eolourful and -artis.tic coliection was to. be seen in the. deeorativo elasses, which surpassed, those of i>ast years. Mr and. Mrs^O. J. Bakqr, who judged the cut blooms, commenting on the display, stated they were a nice even lot, consideririg the season, and they stated that they found it diffieult to pick out the champitmship bloom, which was a well-grown white trumpet 44Beer Bheba, " grown by Mrs J. Briuson. . ■ The. miscellaneous lot could have been bctter. The coliection of primroses aua polyanthus was wonderful and ti*; colours good, stated Mr Baker. Kun in conjunction with tho show were many stails spread with an array of attractive goods Avhich foiind a roady sale. Morning and afternoon tea was served' on the1 stage and many conr petitions' were a further source of revBnue. The .show .was run- undcr the auspices . of the St. Mary's -Women 's GiiUd. of which .Mrs V. Bradley is secretary. Canon.E. D. Rice gave assistance and the suin takcn, £192 4/-, proved that the ovent was highly successful. The stallholders were: — ^Work stall, Mesdames Walker, A. 0. Williams, Drysdale, P. Bhiyrk, E.
