WELLINGTON, Last Nig«U Cabinet has approved of the acceptance of tenders for an additional 220 houses, 207 of which are to be built iu North Island towns and 13 in tlie Spreydon district, Christchurch. The member in Charge of Housing Mr J. A. Lee, said to-day that tha contractors could begin operations the moment they had completed formalities relating to the signing of contracts. Of the total of 127 houses to be constructed on the Casey Estate, Auckland, seven separate contracts had beeu let for these houses, and the work had been distributed among large and small building firms. PiftSSn nouses are to be built in Gisborne, 24 at Hastings, 29 at Napier and 12 at Feilding.
